Mr. Shafiqur Rahman, a 75 year-old former heavy smoker is celebrating ‘healthy living’ after successfully kicking the habit with the help of his Community Health Development Worker Alamgir Khandoker. Speaking about his former 20-a-day habit, Mr. Rahman said: “I started smoking when I was 10 years old, so after 65 years of smoking, I’m relieved to say that I haven’t had a cigarette for over five months. Initially, I found it quite difficult to give up. I gained weight, and had to deal with high temper, but that has settled now and I’m back down to my normal weight.” (Read on …)
